RAUTAHAT, FEBRUARY 5

Madhes Province government has formed a high-level committee to identify and resolve the farmers' problems in the province.

The meeting of Madhes Province government formed a five-member high level committee led by Minister of Land Management, Agriculture, and Cooperative Bijay Kumar Yadav today. Other members of the committee include Minister of Industry, Tourism, and Environment Satrudhan Mahato, Minister of Internal Affairs Bharat Prasad Sah, Minister of Finance Sailendra Prasad Sah and Minister of Drinking Water and Energy Development Om Prakash Sarraf.

The committee has been mandated to formulate policies on the development of agriculture and livestock, fertilisers, seeds, irrigation problem, state of insurance, and inundation, said Minister of Finance Sailendra Sah, who is the high-level committee member.

The high-level committee has been authorised to submit interim report within 15 days and full report within a month. Committee coordinator Bijay Kumar Yadav said that they would incorporate solutions that would come from local, province and federal governments in the report. The high-level committee will also address the farmers' problems raised by the CK Raut-led Janamat Party.
