Community forest users threaten agitation

KATHMANDU:

The Federation of Community Forest Users- Nepal today announced that the federation would stage series of protest programmes from July 2 to press the government to fulfil its demands.

“The first phase of struggle would begin on July 2 by staging a sit-in protest in front of the Singha Durbar,” said Bhim Prasad Shrestha, president of FECOFUN at a press conference on Thursday. The demands include annulling of Partnership Forest Manual 2060 BS and Directive to Form District Forest Coordination Committee 2062 BS among others. — HNS
