Province 1 Chief Minister Sherdhan Rai today said that his government would name the province in consensus with all the parties representing the Provincial Assembly.

Speaking at a press meet organised by Press Organisation Nepal Udayapur at the district headquarters Gaighat, Rai reiterated that the name of the province would be fixed in consultation and consensus with all the parties and groups.

“The Provincial Assembly has a majority of Nepal Communist party (NCP). The PA can fix the province’s name shortly. But we want the name fixed unanimously,” Rai added.

Rai argued that the federal structure would not fail at any cost as it had not come because of some people’s aspiration and need.

“We are committed to implementing the federal set-up to realise the goal of Happy Nepalis and Prosperous Nepal,” he stated.

Rai said that the recently presented budget by the province government had stressed on agriculture and tourism.
