Constitutional Assembly must to bond with people’s wish
Pokhara, July 29:
Leaders of the agitating political parties stressed the need for a constitutional assembly to identify with the people’s wish. This view was put forward in a seminar ‘Today’s Need — Total Democracy’, organised by Joint Students’ Agitation Coordination Committee, Kaski. Leaders said Nepalis have been fighting for democracy time and again. So the present movement must culminate in stable democracy. Vice-chairman of Jana Morcha Nepal, Lila Mani Pokhrel said, “Rivalry was prevalent among parties. The King took advantage, burdened people with dictatorship.” UML central leader Trilochan Dhakal said the present government had shown its true colours by arresting student leaders on trumped up charges. NC leader Sunil Bhandari said the party would ally with Maoists only if they ended violence. NC-D leader Navindra Raj Joshi said RCCC was formed to destroy democracy.
