Construction bodies boycott tender call

The construction entrepreneurs of 70 districts boycotted the construction tender calls as protest in opposition to the second amendment of the Act on Financial Administration, 2056 BS.
It is reported that nearly 14,000 construction entrepreneurs are protesting the Act.
In Bara, the Construction Entrepreneurs Association (CEA) organised a press conference where it said it would boycott the tenders, hoist black flags in its office and tie black ribbons till its demands are met. In Pokhara, the CEA, Kaski, launched its protest against the "impractical" amendment from today.
In Dhankuta, the CEA and Small Contractor Entrepreneurs Association boycotted all tenders called by the Eastern Road Division (ERD)-4 at Mulghat.
Speaking at a programme, Ramesh Dahal of CEA, Morang, warned of street protests if the Act was not revoked.
