Construction of Upper Tamakoshi expedited

Dolakha, April 16

The 456 megawatts Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Project in Bigu Rural Municipality, Dolakha, has completed 87 per cent construction work.

Project officials said construction of the project was delayed due to 2015 earthquakes and months-long blockade. The project was supposed to complete 89.1 per cent work so far.

“We failed to meet our target due to the earthquakes and the border blockade,” said project spokesperson Ganesh Neupane. This national pride hydropower project is expected to be completed within two years. It is being constructed with the investment of Nepali nationals. “Locals are elated now as construction of the project has been expedited,” said Neupane.
