Cooking gas shortage starts to grip Saptari

SAPTARI: The shortage of liquefied petroleum (cooking) gas has started to grip Saptari due to the ongoing shutdown enforced by the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF).

The gas dealers across the district also seem to wear a deserted look as the shutdown enters 40th consecutive day, barring the mobility of the vehicles that would bring in LPG to the district.

Although around 900 cylinders of Koshi Gas were ferried to Rajbiraj a week ago under police escorting, local gas dealer Rambabu Das shared that it was inadequate.

More than 3,000 gas cylinders are consumed in a month in Saptari.
