Police claim they are close to cracking Yadav's murder
Janakpurdham, February 8
Dhanusha police today said that investigation into the murder of Nepali Congress regional representative Rajendra Yadav was under way. Yadav was shot to death at Dhanusha’s Balabakhara last Friday.
Dhanusha police spokesperson DSP Nakul Pokhrel said police was closeto finding the culprits. “We have narrowed down the probe. Soon, we shall bring the guilty to book,” DSP Pokhrel said.
Police officers said that preliminary investigation showed that there was no connection between Friday’s murder and shooting of NC leader Nasibullah Rain on Saturday morning at Birendra Bazaar in the district.
“Preliminary investigation shows no connection between the two incidents. But, since the probe is on, we cannot give a final word on it,” DSP Pokhrel said.
DSP Pokhrel said police had not arrested anyone as they were trying to reach the guilty directly. “We are investigating an underground armed outfit that owned up responsibility for both the incidents,” DSP Pokhrel added.
