Cops hurt in clash
NEPALGUNJ: A clash between Tharuhat/Tharuwan Struggle Committee and police has left three policemen injured in Mainapokhar of Bardia on Wednesday.
The clash erupted after agitators pelted stones at a vehicle carrying security officials. As per sources at Bheri Zonal Police Office, Nepalgunj, female agitators gathered at Mainapokhar pelted stones at a vehicle carrying chief district officer, superintendents of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force.
Police constable Gita Chaudhary and head constable Tirtharaj Giri and APF head constable Narjung Roka were injured in the incident. Their condition is said to be normal. Police had to charge batons and fire five rounds of tear gas to bring the situation under control. Meanwhile, agitators have claimed that over half a dozen cadres were also injured in the clash.
