Cops make public two arrested for attempt to kill spouses in Dolakha

Dolakha, August 2 

Police today made two persons who were accused of trying to kill their spouses public.

One had tried to feed his wife poison and the other had poured hot cooking oil over his wife’s body. Police said Hari Prasad Subedi, 41, of Bhimeshwor Municipality was arrested after he thrashed his wife Rosy under the influence of alcohol last evening.

According to DSP Rameshwor Karki, a police team arrested Hari Prasad red-handed while he was trying to feed pesticide to Rosy. DSP Karki added that the police team was immediately deployed after villagers informed about the incident. Rosy is being treated in Kathmandu-based Subechha Hospital, said police. Police said further investigation into the incident was under way.

Similarly, police arrested Kumar Tamang, 36, of Baiteshwor Rural Municipality after he tried to kill his wife. Police said Kumar had poured hot cooking oil on the body of his wife Urmila, 35, on June 5. He had been on the run. Police said Urmila had returned home after being treated in Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Kathmandu some days ago.  Investigation into the case was under way, said police.
