KATHMANDU, APRIL 13

Nepal on Tuesday reported 460 new cases of coronavirus infection from across the country. With this, the total nationwide infection count has advanced to 280,984.

A total of 57 antigen positive cases were detected through tests carried out across the country in the past 24 hours.

Of the total cases recorded today, Kathmandu district holds the highest number of new infections with 161 cases logged in the past 24 hours. Lalitpur reported 28 cases, whereas 12 new cases were reported from Bhaktapur.

Likewise, 153 people who were earlier infected with the virus are reported to have recovered in the past 24 hours as per the latest data provided by health ministry.

As of today, 274,318 individuals have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate, as such, is 97.6 per cent.

Nepal's active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 3,608.

The nationwide death-toll has reached 3,058 with five Covid-related fatalities reported today.

According to the health ministry, 5,203 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, of which 4,386 were PCR tests while 817 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 2,321,670 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.

Currently, there are 85 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Monday, Nepal's coronavirus case count reached 280,524 with 496 newly confirmed cases.

Globally, over 137 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 2.9 million people have lost their lives to Covid-19.

Likewise, over 110 million people have recovered from the disease while more than 23 million cases are still active.
