Country to welcome investment from anybody, says Dahal

Siraha, February 11

Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Co-chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal today said the government would welcome investment from any sector and individual for the country’s prosperity and development.

Inaugurating Mirchaiya festival organised at Mirchaiya Municipality in Siraha, Dahal held that anybody could invest in Nepal to increase production, create jobs and hold foreign-bound youths inside the country.

Dahal said development was possible only through collaboration between the public and private sector. “Countries around the world have accomplished swift economic development only through collaboration between the private sector and the government,” Dahal said. He urged the government to take the private sector into confidence to avail their skills, experience and capital for nation building. He further argued that three-pillar economic policy of private, public and cooperatives — was key to ushering in rapid transformation.

Dahal said Siraha was an important district from the agricultural perspective. Noting that the Madhesi people had been discriminated by the state, Dahal said the government was ready to amend the statute to include the Madhesi community’s sentiments and rights.

Dahal expressed hope that the citizenship bill would be passed by the Parliament very soon and problems-related to citizenship would be settled.

Dahal also inaugurated a health post building at Mahanaur of Arnama Rural Municipality, Siraha, today.

Dahal recalled that Siraha had elected him to the second Constituent Assembly. “I feel as much happy when I visit Siraha as a daughter feels when she goes to her parental home,” he said.
