BARA, JUNE 13

A couple died when their motorbike was hit by a truck in Bara's Amlekhgunj this morning. According to police, Devendra Chaudhary, 26, and his wife Nanda Chaudhary of Baragadhi Rural Municipality died on the way to Bara from Chitwan.

"They were riding a motorbike and heading to Bara from Chitwan when they were hit by a lorry coming from behind. They died on the spot," said DSP Rajesh Thapa, spokesperson for District Police Office, adding the bodies had been taken to Kalaiya Hospital for post-mortem.

Police have also informed that the truck has been seized and the driver detained.

Meanwhile, with this recent accident, four persons have lost their lives in accidents in the past twelve hours in the district.

Earlier, two persons had died when a motorbike fell off Thalahi Bridge in Mahagadhimai Municipality-8 last night.

The deceased were identified as Birulal Yadav, 35, of Subarna Rural Municipality-7 and Mewachandra Raya Yadav, 30, of the Indian state of Bihar. Seriously injured Indian nationals had died in course of treatment at Kalaiya Hospital.
