Court moved against army
Lekhnath, November 20:
Family members of two persons disappeared and allegedly killed by security forces filed a lawsuit in the district administration office, Kaski, against the Nepal Army yesterday.
The lawsuits were filed by the relatives of Shekhar Nath Ghimire and Chotnath Ghimire from Lumjung district’s Ishaneshwor VDC-4, Chinankhu. They have made the then chief of the Bhorletar Barracks, Khadag Bahadur Ranabhat and Jamadar Rabindra Rai as defendants. “The incidents occurred in Kaski and as such we are filing the lawsuit here”, Shekhar Nath’s wife Radhika told this daily.
Shekhar Nath and Chotnath were disappeared by the army in the second week of February, 2002. Their remains were recovered in a jungle at Suryabas in Kaski’s Rupakot VDC on November 3. They were identified from their clothes.
