POKHARA: Three children died when a cowshed caught fire in Tara Village of Tarakhola Rural Municipality-4, Baglung on Tuesday evening.

The deceased have been identified as local Dil Bahadur Gharti's daughter Ritu Gharti (6) and son Aayush Gharti (4), and local Rudra Bahadur Rokka's son Ranish Rokka (6), according to Gandaki Province Police Office, Pokhara. They were warming themselves by the fire inside the shed when the incident happened.

A police team from Tarakhola Area Police Office and Galkot Area Police Office have handed over the bodies of the deceased to Primary Health Centre at Harichaur, Galkot for postmortem, informed Bishnu Regmi of Gandaki Province Police Office.

The shed has been completely gutted by the fire. The cattle, however, are safe as they were taken out for grazing earlier in the day.

Meanwhile, the investigation into the incident is underway.
