Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal cadres padlocked different local level offices in Kailali, Kanchanpur, Dadeldhura and Achham districts.
As many as 14 ward offices of Kailali’s Dhangadi Sub-metropolitan City were padlocked last night.
Pamphlets of Communist Party of Nepal’s Seti-Mahakali Bureau were found outside the padlocked ward offices. The pamphlets read that the ward offices had been padlocked against the incumbent government’s anti-national and anti-people decisions. The pamphlets also read that the party had announced a series of protest programmes against the government.
Earlier, Chand’s cadres had locked employees and peoples’ representatives inside the office of Kailali’s Lamkichuha Municipality last evening.
NCP cadres had locked two employees while they were working inside the municipality office at 8:30pm. According to a source, accountant Saroj Chaudhary, assistant Bagendra Sunar and some people’s representatives were working in the account department.
Later, police broke open the padlocks. Similarly, Chand’s activists also padlocked different local levels and ward offices in Kanchanpur last night.
Offices of Bhimdatta, Bedkot, Mahakali, Suklaphanta, Krishnapur and Belauri municipalities, Beldangi Rural Municipality and ward offices were locked in Kanchanpur.
Local levels, however, resumed their service after police broke open the padlocks.
Meanwhile, cadres of Netra Bikram Chand padlocked two local levels in Dadeldhura today. Aalital Rural Municipality Office and eight of its ward offices were locked. Offices of wards 7,8,9 and 10 were locked in Parsuram Municipality. Suspicious objects were also found outside the padlocked offices of wards 9 and 10, according to Chief District Office Raju Prasad Poudel.
Police personnel were deployed to all the padlocked ward offices and local levels.
Cadres of the banned political outfit padlocked offices of wards 1 and 13 of Mangalsen Municipality, office of Ward no 7 in Binayak Municipality in Achham. Offices of wards 3, 4 and 6 of Ramaroshan Rural Municipality were locked in Achham district last night.
Police broke open all padlocked offices of local levels and their wards today morning, said Achham CDO Bhojraj Shrestha.
