Siraha, May 6

Sopendra Yadav, a CPN-MC cadre of Marewa in Karjanha Municipality was murdered in Siraha last night.

Fifty-year-old Yadav was murdered on the way home from his cowshed on the banks of the western banks of the Kamala River, which is located almost one kilometre away from his house, according to District Police Office Siraha. It is said that his neck was slit with a sharp weapon. The locals had informed security personnel after they spotted the body near their houses. “Investigation is under way to find out who murdered him and what was the motive behind the murder,” said DSP Rajan Bhetwal.

The body was handed over to his family after a post-mortem was conducted at District Hospital Siraha. “Search for the murderers has been intensified,” said DSP Bhetwal.

Meanwhile, CPN-MC Siraha has strongly demanded that the culprit involved in the brutal killing be arrested and stern action be taken against the perpetrators at the earliest.
