Maoist Centre Dolakha forms people’s council

CPN-Maoist Centre Dolakha started a month-long campaign to strengthen its organisation and formed the people’s council (Janaparishad) as a shadow government in the district.

CPN-Maoist Centre launched the month-long campaign and formed a shadow government in line with the Maoist Centre’s district level meeting decision.

In a press meet organised by the CPN-MC, Dolakha, at Charikot, the party’s Dolakha In-charge Devi Khadka said a campaign had started to strengthen the party organisation and end capitalism.

Khadka said that party would be restructured from the cell committee to ward level in one month.

According to Khadka, every ward will have five cells comprising 3 to 11 members. According to the new party organisation, Maoist Centre will have 15-member ward committee, 35-member rural municipality, 53-member municipality committee and 151-member district committee.

The party has set the target of holding conference in all 74 wards of the district on October 7. Khadka said the party had launched a crusade to strengthen party’s relations with the people. She said

her party would also intensify efforts to forge unity in the

district.

The CPN-MC had bagged to posts of vice-chair in two rural municipalities and 11 ward chairs in the civic polls in the district.

The party has decided to form shadow government termed as janaparishad at all the local bodies in the district.

Kul Bahdaur Budhathoki, CPN-Maoist Centre district Secretary, has been made Dolakha District Council Coordinator. The party has plans to form janaparishad at the municipality, rural municipality and ward levels.

The janaparishad will have winners and losers of party candidates of the last civic polls as members. The party has plans to include candidates of the civic polls from other parties as well.

In-charge Khadka said that they had decided to form the janaparishad to serve people and control financial anomalies at government offices, non-governmental organisations, and development projects. She clarified that the janaparishad was a shadow government unlike parallel government or war-time people’s government.

Meanwhile, CPN-Maoist Centre Dolakha has decided to revitalise its youth wing — Young Communist League. The district meeting of the Maoists decided to give militant character to the YCL. As per the new guideline for the YCL, it will launch the campaign against social perversion, financial anomalies and corruption in the district.
