CPN-MC, FSF-N tie up for votes in Biratnagar

Biratnagar, June 18

The CPN-Maoist Centre and Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal today forged an alliance for the second phase of local level elections in Biratnagar Metropolitan City, Morang.

As per the alliance, Umesh Yadav from the Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal and Namita Neupane from the CPN-Maoist Centre have been nominated as mayoral and deputy mayoral candidates respectively.

The FSF-N and MC were the third and fourth political forces respectively in the metropolis in the 2013 elections. Similarly, these two parties have formed alliance in Ratuwamai Municipality, Katahari Rural Municipality and Dhanpal Rural Municipality of the district.

As per the agreement, the CPN-MC will offer candidacy for mayoral post and FSF-N will offer candidacy for the post of deputy mayor in Ratuwamai Municipality. CPN-MC Morang Assistant Coordinator Ganesh Uprety said both the parties have agreed to nominate the ward chair candidate from the CPN-MC and vice-chair candidate from the FSF-N in Dhanpal Rural Municipality.

Likewise, CPN-UML and Democratic Forum Nepal formed an electoral alliance for the second phase of civic polls in the metropolis, yesterday.

As per the agreement, Binod Dhakal from UML and Suchi Chaudhary from DFN will be the mayoral and deputy

mayoral candidates respectively in the metropolis.

Meanwhile, the Nepali Congress has picked Bhim Parajuli and Indu Karki as mayoral and deputy mayoral candidates respectively in the metropolis.
