CPN-Maoist Centre will elect its 299-member Central Committee tomorrow

CPN-MC leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha said the election of CC members was scheduled for today, but due to lack of time, they decided to hold the election tomorrow.

Shrestha said the ongoing general convention of the party would try to elect CC members on the basis of consensus, but if that was not possible, voting would be held.

The newly elected CC members will elect 15-member office bearers, including the party chairperson.

CPN-MC leaders have said that they will re-elect Pushpa Kamal Dahal as their chairman. The party will elect CC members ensuring cluster wise representation.

CPN-MC Election Commission has published a list of 1,742 delegates who will elect the party's Central Committee members.

The CC will elect the Politburo and Standing Committee. The ongoing eighth general convention of the CPN-MC adopted the party's new statute today. Yesterday, the general convention passed Pushpa Kamal Dahal's political document.
