DOLAKHA, DECEMBER 5
The common candidate from the ruling alliance Ganga Karki of the CPN-Maoist Centre was elected to the House of Representatives from Dolakha.
His rival Bal Krishna Siwakoti from the CPN-UML was defeated by 315 votes. Of the 85,600 votes cast, Karki received 36,820 votes while Siwakoti garnered 36,505 votes.
Kundan Raj Kafle of the Nepali Congress was elected for the Province Assembly from Dolakha-1 and Bharat Bahadur KC from CPN-UML was elected for Dolakha-2. As many as 21 candidates, including seven independent candidates, were in the election fray in the district. Re-election was held on December 1 after CPN- UML filed a case with the election office saying that the November 20 election was unfair.
