UML divided over marking Marx’s birth anniversary
Kathmandu, May 4
Intra-party conflict has surfaced in the ruling CPN-UML over organising a programme to mark bicentenary of Karl Marx’s birth anniversary today and tomorrow.
This was reflected today when Prime Minister and UML Chair KP Sharma Oli chose not to attend the programme organised by UML Deputy General Secretary Ghanashyam Bhusal, who is the coordinator of Karl Marx birth bicentennial celebration committee. Other senior leaders Jhala Nath Khanal, Madhav Kumar Nepal and Bamdev Gautam, and CPN-MC Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal attended the programme.
A similar programme will be organised by the UML Standing Committee tomorrow.
The programme will be addressed by UML Chair KP Sharma Oli.
