UML expands CC to include more Madhesi leaders

KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML on Friday expanded its Central Committee in a bid to promote inclusion of Madhesi people in the party organisation.

The party's Standing Committee meeting held in Birtamod of Jhapa on Friday appointed 12 full and nine alternative CC members, Secretary Yogesh Bhattarai informed in a statement this morning.

Bhattarai said the decision was made "keeping in mind necessities of the party works".

The decision was made on the eve of the launch of the party's Madhes-centric Mechi-Mahakali campaign.
