UML leader's family "abused" by UDMF cadres in Rajbiraj

KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML has expressed its concerns over the alleged abuse at family members of CPN-UML leader Suman Pyakurel by the United Democratic Madhesi Front in Rajbiraj of Saptari district on Tuesday.

The UML Central Committee member Pyakurel's wife and daughter-in-law—Jyoti and Raktim Jyoti respectively—were encircled, verbally abused and mistreated by a group of UDMF cadres when they were in Rajbiraj for a family affair, UML Secretary Pradeep Gyawali informed in a statement.

In the statement, the main opposition party stated that such behaviour against women were unacceptable and condemnable.

The UML also thanked police for controlling the mob and the situation.

Meanwhile, other activities of the UDMF including obstructing other parties' programmes and attacks were also condemned by the party in the statement.
