UML has lost moral ground to seek votes, says Yadav
Janakpurdham, Sept 1
Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal Chairperson Upendra Yadav has argued that the CPN-UML has lost its moral ground to canvass for votes in the Tarai.
Speaking at a press meet organised by Reporters’ Club Janakpur today, Yadav identified the UML’s decision to give a thumbs down to the statute amendment proposal registered in the Parliament as a serious mistake.
“UML has undermined the concerns of the Madhes by voting against the statute amendment bill. I don’t know on what grounds the party is now canvassing the voters whom they let down,” Yadav said.
The Madhes-based leader also hit out at the rest of the major parties, calling them anti-Madhes. “Actually, no Madhesi has yet forgotten how the then NC-led government opened fire at commoners during the erstwhile Madhes agitation,” he argued.
Portraying his own party as the true messiah of the Madhes, Yadav said there was no option to electing his party candidates to address concerns of the Madhesi people.
