UML preparing for elections in Province 2

With the date for the third round of local elections less than two months away, CPN-UML has intensified poll-related activities in Province-2.
The party that had laid of its campaign after the poll date was rescheduled in the province has started organising political programmes.
According to the party publicity department Chief Manoj Poudel, activities such as cadres’ trainings, public gatherings and meetings have intensified. As the date for the polls is not long away, visitations of party central leaders has increased, and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has stationed himself here for quite some time, making his presence felt in almost every programme, from cadres’ gathering to programmes held to welcome new party members.
Just a week back, UML central secretary Prithvi Subba Gurung participated in a training programme organised by the party-aligned Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities.
Similarly, while UML standing committee member Shankar Pokharel is all set to visit the district to give training to senior cadres here tomorrow and on Saturday, General Secretary Bishnu Poudel is also due to arrive in the district on Sunday to participate in a district committee meeting.
