UML recommends poll candidates in Udayapur

  • District committee has named as many as 58 prospective candidates

CPN-UML, Udayapur has recommended the names of possible candidates to contest in the upcoming provincial and parliamentary elections from the district.

The district committee meeting held yesterday recommended as many as 58 aspirants under both first-past-the-post and proportional representation electoral systems to the central committee of the party.

Tek Bahadur Raut, Rammani Pokhrel and Manju Chaudhary were recommended for Constituency No 1, whereas Jagannath Khatiwada and Bishnu Raut from Constituency No 2 of the district for the elections.

Kumar Jung Karki, Kalu Lama, Kushal Babu Basnet, Tek Narayan Chaudhary, Dilli Bimali, Dhanapati Acharya, Narendra Raut, Prem Bahadur Subedi, Rajendra Katwal, Bimal Karki, Pushpa Raj Subedi, Raj Kumar Rai, Saran Rai, Shiva Adhikari, Shyam Bahadur Rai, Santosh Basnet, Samjhana Kumari Pokhrel, Surendra Basnet, Soman Chaudhary and Hari Narayan Panjiyar were recommended for the provincial elections from Constituency No 1 ‘A’.

Party district chairman Ishwormani Raut said Ishwor Mani Raut, Bimal Karki, Parameshwor Ghimire, Prakash Basnet, Durga Pariyar, Bhagawat Raut, Maya Bhandari and Mahesh Regmi were recommended from Constituency No 1 ‘B’.

Likewise, Gopal Khatri, Kailash Basnet, Bharat Thapa, Amar Rayamajhi, Sailesh Lama, Devraj Rai, Meghraj Dahal and Amritdhoj Rai were recommended for the provincial election from Constituency No 2 ‘A’  and Mani Sundar Shrestha, Tok Shrestha and Kala Ghale from Constituency No 2 ‘B’.

Party district chairman Raut said the names of Tamendra Rai, Kumari Ale, Chakra Bahadur Lama, Urmila Dahal, Gyan Bahadur Samal, Tara Thapa Magar, Chudamani Luitel, Srijana Danuwar and Shambhu Sah were recommended under PR electoral system.

It is said that Nepali Congress and CPN-Maoist Centre have already recommended its candidates for the provincial and parliamentary elections from the district.
