As per the results of the second phase of civic polls till today evening, CPN-UML has secured the chief position in 42 local levels in the hilly districts of Province 1.

Of the 11 hilly districts in Province 1, UML bagged victory in 42 places. Of the 137 local levels in the province, UML has won 43 places while Nepali Congress and CPN-Maoist Centre have won 23 and seven places respectively.

Of the 77 local levels in the hilly districts of the province, results of 77 places have been declared.

UML won Miklajung Rural Municipality in Morang,  Maiwakhola Rural Municipality, Mikwakhola Rural Municipality, Fungling Municipality and Yangwarak Rural Municipality in Taplejung. The party bagged victory in Hilihang and Kummayak Rural Municipalities of Panchthar.

UML clinched victory in Sandakpur, Chulachuli, Maijogmai Rural municipalities of Ilam. It also won Chainpur Municipality, Madi Municipality, Kahndbari Municipality, Sabhapokhari and Makalu rural municipalities in Sankhuwasabha. Similarly, UML registered victory in Menchheyam, Chhtahr, Athrai, and Fedap rural municipalities, and Myanglung Municipality of Terhathum.

UML triumphed in Hatuwagadi, Pauwadumba, Ram Prasad Rai and Temke maiyum rural municipalities in Bhojpur. The UML also defeated other parties in Lamidanda, Jantedhunga, Rupakot, Kepilasagadhi rural municipalities in Khotang.

UML candidates were elected in Pakribash Municipality, Khalsa Chhitang Sahidbhumi Rural Municipality, Chhthar Jorpati, Chaubishe rural municipalities, Dhankuta Municipality, Mahalaxmi Municipality and Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality in Dhankuta.

Sotang Rural Municipality, Dudhkoshi, Khumbu Pasang Lahmu and Necha Slayan rural municipalities in Solukhumbu also went to the UML pocket. UML secured victory at Tapli, Uadayapurgadi, and Rautamai rural municipalities in Udayapur and Siddicharan Municipality in Okhaldhunga.

Likewise, Nepali Congress clinched victory in Meringden, Triveni, Athrai and Sirijhungha rural municipalities in Taplejung. Tembewa and Falgunanda rural municipalities of Panchthar also went to the NC.

NC won at  Rong, and Maksebung rural municipalities in Ilam and Chichila, Bhotkhola, Siliching, Dharmadevi and Panchkhapan rural municipalities in Sankhuwasabha. The NC triumphed in Laligurans Municipality, Bhojpur Municipality, Arun Rural Municipality, and Salpasilichho Rural Municipality in Terhathum.

Diprung, Aiselukhrka, Barahapokhari in Khotang went to the NC. The party won the Solududhkunda in Solukhumbu and Champadevi, Sunkoshi and Khijidemba rural municipalities in Okhaldhunga.

CPN-Maoist Centre won in Miklajung of Panchthar; Aamchowk in Bhojpur; Sakela in Khotang, Likhupike and Mahakulung in Solu and Sunkoshi in Udayapur and Chisankhugadhi rural municipality in Okhaldhunga.
