‘Crony capitalism to blame for govt’s failure’
Lamjung, October 25
Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Chief Whip Dev Prasad Gurung has blamed crony capitalism for the government’s failure to deliver as per people’s expectation.
“Though monarchy was abolished after a long struggle, its vestiges still remain in many guises, such as feudalism and capitalism. These elements have frustrated the government’s attempts to work as per people’s expectation.”
Speaking at greetings exchange programme organised by the party in Lamjung today, Gurung said, “Elements such as crony capitalists still have a high hand in the country. It’s they who have spawned and supported factionalism in political parties. But we are committed to moving ahead united by holding internal discussions and rectifying ourselves,” he said, expressing confidence that the country will witness change under the NCP( NCP)-led government.
