Crossfire between Biplav group and police in Sankhuwasabha
BHOJPUR: Gunfires were exchanged between the cadres of Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav)-led Communist Party of Nepal and the police in Silichong Rural Municipality-1 of Sankhuwasabha district, today.
Police informed that no-one has been injured in the gunfire.
According to police, the cadres of Biplav-led CPN started firing after they saw the team from District Police Office, Sankhuwasabha, at Heyangla in the rural municipality. The security personnel were on a regular patrolling of the area.
Jiwan Prasad Dulal, Chief District Officer of Sakhuwasabha said that the police fired in retaliation after which the cadres fled the scene. "The security personnel had reached the area on a regular patrol. When they saw a police personnel, the cadres started firing after which the police fired back," stated CDO Dulal.
More police personnel have been deployed in the area after the incident for security reasons.
