Cry for National Religion Commission

KATHMANDU: The National Council of Churches of Nepal (NCCN) has demanded to form a ‘National Religion Commission’ to increase religion tolerance and cooperation between different religions and for minimising malpractices in the name of religion in the society. Publicising its recommendations on future constitution, NCCN called for equal treatment to every religion by the state. It also urged for formulating a ‘church policy’ for easy registration of churches. Dr KB Rokaya, general secretary of NCCN accused the present government of neglecting free religion and demanded ‘right to religion’ in the new constitution.
