GULARIYA: The curfew, which was emposed in Lalpur area of Gulariya Municipality in Bardiya, has been lifted after 23 hours this morning.

After a clash between locals and those immersing the idol of Goddess Durga, the authorities had imposed curfew to control the situation.

According to Chief District Officer Narayan Prasad Bhatarai, the curfew was lifted at around 9:00 am today.

The congestion due to narrow space in road became the bone of contention and led to clash injuring five persons.

Police had used tear gas and opened fire in air to disperse the mob and contain the situation.
