Curfew lifted for four hours in Gaur

RAUTAHAT: Rautahat District Administration Office (DAO) has lifted the curfew for four hours in the district headquarters, Gaur, effective from 6 am of Monday morning.

According to Narhari Baral, Chief District Officer of Rautahat district, the curfew would be effective from 10 am again.

On Sunday, the DAO had imposed the curfew in Gaur after local people turned violent over demise of an 18-year-old schoolboy, Sekh Tabarej of Tejapakad VDC-1, who died in the clash between police and United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) in Rautahat district headquarters of Gaur while returning from school.

All the government schools have been shut down in the district following the agitation.

Meanwhile, the agitating UDMF cadres had torched the waiting room of Bankul Police Station and motorcycle in front of it.

Likewise, the compound wall of Kathariya Area Police Office has also been destroyed by the UDMF cadres.
