KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 23
The District Security Committee of Parsa District has lifted the curfew imposed in the Birgunj metropolitan area and replaced it with a prohibitory order.
Chief District Officer Bhola Dahal stated that the curfew, which had been in effect from 9:45 am today, will be converted to a prohibitory order starting from 4:30 pm.
Following an all-party meeting held at the District Administration Office, Parsa, a three-point agreement was reached regarding the incident that occurred in Shreepur, Birgunj-11, on Sunday. Consequently, CDO Dahal lifted the curfew and issued a prohibitory order.
Noting that the situation has not yet fully stabilized, the prohibitory order will remain in force in four key areas of Birgunj until 8:00 am on Tuesday.
Under the prohibitory order, any form of gathering, procession, demonstration, meeting, or dharna is prohibited within the area bounded by Bypass Road in the east, Ranighat Bridge in the west, Powerhouse Chowk in the north, and Ghantaghar Chowk in the south.
