Customs offices in high demand

DADELDHURA: Residents of various districts along the Nepal-India border have been facing difficulties due to the authorities’ failure to establish relocated customs offices.

The locals say their requests for the same have been falling on deaf ears and that they are compelled to rely on nearby Indian marketplaces for essentials. They also complained that they are mistread by the Seema Suraksha Bal (SSB) — India’s paramilitary security force in the borders — due to the absence of customs offices.
