URLABARI: A person died after the cycle he was riding on met with an accident in Ratuwamai Municipality-10 of Urlabari-Bardanga Road section in Morang district on Saturday night.

The deceased has been identified as Kashiram Dhami Tharu (48) of Ratuwamai Municipality-9 of the district.

According to police, the incident occurred when the bus (Ko 1 Kha 1964) en route from Urlabari to Aambadi rear-ended the cycle last night, injuring cyclist Tharu.

The critically injured Tharu was rushed to the Biratnagar-based Neuro Cardio & Multispeciality Hospital, however, he breathed his last during the course of treatment, informed police.

Meanwhile, police have impounded the bus and detained its driver for further investigation, said Police Inspector Bishnu Pradip Basyal, at the Sijuwa-based Area Police Office.
