KATHMANDU: A cyclist died after being hit by a van at Laxmipur in Jhapa district along the East-West Highway on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Lok Bahadur Rai (50) of Birtamod Municipality-2 in the district

Critically injured in the incident, Rai breathed his last on the way to the Biratamod-base B and C Hospital, Inspector Dhundi Raj Giri informed.

The van (Me 1 Cha 3526) hit him the afternoon, police said.
