Dacoits loot cash, goods
Jhapa, February 25:
A group of about eight armed dacoits looted cash and goods worth of thousands of rupees from a house of Tri Narayan Rajbanshi at Birta Bazaar of Anarmani village development committee ward number two of Jhapa district last night.
Two of the family members were injured in the dacoits’ assault.
Rajbanshi’s wife, Kaushalya and son Umesh were injured when they tried to retaliate against the dacoits, Rajbanshi’s other son Suresh informed.
Kaushalya sustained serious injuries in her head and is undergoing treatment at local hospital.
The group of dacoits looted Rs 87,000 in cash and four tolas of gold from the house keeping the family members at gunpoint, Police Inspector Rajendra Basnet of Area Police Office, Birtamod said, adding search is on for the absconding dacoits.
