KATHMANDU, JANUARY 21

After filing his candidacy for the upcoming House of Representatives election from Rukum East, Coordinator of the Nepali Communist Party, Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', spent Wednesday engaging with martyr families and voters.

Dahal visited the homes of martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the armed conflict in Sisne Rural Municipality-5 and met with their family members.

Sabitri, mother of martyr Sita Gharti, said that the people of Rukum are excited following the announcement of Dahal as a candidate for the HoR election.

Similarly, Chetana, sister of martyr Bandana Pariyar, remarked that a new sense of hope has emerged among the residents of Rukum East after having the leader of the armed conflict as their candidate.

Chandra Kumari, 86-year-old mother of martyr Jeevan Kaji (Chandra Bahadur) Thapa, urged the candidate to work towards realizing the dreams of the martyrs.

On the occasion, Coordinator Dahal stated that he would never forget the aspirations of the martyrs, adding that the State has initiated various programs to honor their sacrifices.

During the door-to-door campaign, he appealed to the voters of Rukum East to support the Nepali Communist Party.
