Dahal for linking the Thori-Kerung road
BIRGUNJ: CPN-Maoist Centre Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal today said he was committed to merging Thori Rural Municipality of Parsa with Province 3.
Addressing a function organised at Thori today, Dahal said almost all political leaders were ready for the move before the local level elections but could not do so due to busy election schedules.
“When I entered Thori today, I could hear just one voice: Thori should be merged with Province 3. Hence, I express my commitment in front of you all that Thori will be merged with Province 3,” assured Dahal.
Dahal said he was thinking of developing Thori as a point that would link Nepal, China and India. “Today, I have arrived here to observe the border area. All necessary preparations to open a road link with China’s Kerung border from Thori have been completed. This road connectivity has immense prospects not only for the residents of Thori but also for all Nepali citizens.
Recaling CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli’s visit to Kerung after the recently-held elections, Dahal said,“Our visit to Kerung and Thori has opened a new avenue for the Thori-Kerung road connectivity,” said Dahal.
The two-time former prime minister was accompanied by his wife Sita and CPN-Maoist Centre central member Urmila Aryal, among other party activists at Thori.

Dahal points at possibility of Thori's merger with Province 3
CHITWAN: CPN Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has pledged to merge Thori of Parsa district with Province-3.
Speaking at a programme organised by Thori Rural Municipality today, Prachanda said though there was a plan to keep Thori in Province 3, it could not materialise due to Madhes movement. “The upcoming government will give top priority to merge Thori with Province 3.”
He also added that implementing the merger of Thori with Province-3 would be an easy job after the rural municipality's anonymous decision to that end.
Recalling that maximum quantity of petroleum products and food stuffs was imported through this check point, the former Prime Minister said that Thori-Kerung road would be developed soon after upgrading the point.
"This route is very important for trilateral cooperation; this would be very short and crucial route," he added.
The Maoist Centre Chairman visited Thori while going to Madi and Badarjhula of Chitwan district to extend thanks to the voters after his election as the MP.
Prachanda had also thanked the voters of Badarjhula and promised to take a concrete decision to resolve the problems squatters facing.
Likewise, Prachanda urged not to harbour doubts on unity between UML and Maoist Centre and refused the media contents disseminated in the recent days.
