Dahal returns home from US
Kathmandu, March 28
Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Co-chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who had accompanied his wife Sita to the United States of America for her treatment there, returned to Kathmandu today. Talking to journalists at Tribhuvan International Airport, Dahal said his wife’s health had remarkably improved after she underwent treatment in the USA. Dahal and his wife had gone to USA 10 days ago.
Dahal said his wife underwent treatment at three medical centres in America and he had returned with medicines and equipment that could alleviate her symptoms. Dahal said his wife suffered from progressive supranuclear palsy.
In response to a question, Dahal said a complaint was lodged against him in Maryland State of USA when he was on the plane.
“I was not told about the conflict-era case against me but I was informed about it. I was taken to my destination from the airport and Nepali Embassy in USA played a role in taking me to my destination,” he said and added that he faced no challenge in America as the American government had already issued a ‘no investigation’ notice before his trip.
