Dahal, Tripathi discuss ways to resolve Madhes stir

Kathmandu, January 27

Unified CPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Tarai Madhesh Democratic Party leader Hridayesh Tripathi today discussed ways to resolve the ongoing Madhes agitation.

At a meeting held at Dahal’s Lazimpat-based residence, the duo discussed ways to bridge the gap between three major parties and the agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front and find a solution, according to Tripathi.

“I urged him to play an active role in resolving the political deadlock as the three parties seem to be in relaxed mood after the recent amendment to the constitution. He also requested me to play a role in ending the blockade at border entry points. We both expressed our views,” Tripathi said. United Democratic Madheshi Front will decide on its future forms of protests during a meeting of top leaders of its constituent parties to be held within a few days after TMDP Chairman Mahantha Thakur returns to Kathmandu from India tomorrow.
