Dailekh man, Surkhet woman held with held with 7 kg opium in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: Two persons, a man and a woman, have been arrested in possession of seven kilogram of opium from the Capital recently, Metropolitan Police Crime Division said on Sunday.

Acting on a tip off, a team deployed from the Metropolitan Police Crime Division intercepted 20-year-old Vishal Gurung of Dailekh and 29-year-old Manju Tamang of Surkhet in Sundhara on Thursday, July 23 and found that they were carrying the contraband with an intent to sell.

Subsequently they were taken in police custody.

The suspects have been currently kept at the Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu for further investigation and legal action, the MPCD informed.
