Damaged buildings to be repaired soon

The reconstruction of physical structures and buildings damaged during the conflict period in

Kavre will begin soon with the government already releasing necessary budget.

The Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction had released Rs 6,696,000 for the construction of 17 projects in the district this current fiscal year, according to District Technical Office.

The reconstruction work will begun as soon as the Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction releases the additional budget, a source in the office said. “An additional fund of Rs 50,000 is needed for the completion of the projects. We have sent a letter to the ministry demanding the fund,” chief at Technical Office Bharat Aryal said.

A meeting of District Reconstruction Committee held at District Administration Office yesterday decided to complete the work on 17 projects within this fiscal year and demanded that the Ministry of Reconstruction and Peace provide fund to reconstruct other projects next fiscal year, Aryal said.

Two buildings each under District Agriculture Office, Silkworm Farming and District Education Office, three under Public Health and eight buildings under district postal service will be reconstructed and repaired in the first phase this fiscal year, the district technical office said.

Under the district education office, the buildings of Janakalyan Secondary School, Ghartichhap and Golmadevi Lower Secondary School, Devitar will be repaired, the office said.

A total of 20 police posts, seven range posts, five buildings under the agriculture office, 44 VDC buildings, 48 offices of postal service, four buildings of banks and four buildings of health posts were damaged during the insurgency period in the district.
