Damauli hotels and shops monitored

Damauli, February 24

A market monitoring team with 10 members deployed from Nepal Administration Training Institute, Jawalakhel of Lalitpur monitored hotels, grocery shops and butchers’ shops in Damauli, Tanahun, today.

The monitoring team in coordination with District Administration Office, Tanahun, inspected different shops and found many date-expired materials.

The team, along with Assistant Chief District Officer Kishwor Kumar Chaudhary, seized 2,600 litres of outdated cold drinks and destroyed them.

Chaudhary informed that the monitoring team seized outdated ghee and more than 50 kg bad meat among other inedible items and destroyed materials worth more than Rs 3 lakh. “The monitoring team also directed local businessmen to sell the materials according to the price tag,” Chaudhary added.

According to sources at DAO, the team will also inspect some other hotels, grocery shops, petrol pumps and construction industries in the areas.

The representatives from district police, cottage development committee, consumers’ forum, chambers of commerce and industry, among others, were present in the team.
