DANG: A chital was killed after a bus hit the animal in Satbariya of Dang district along the East-West Highway, on Monday morning.

The female deer was found dead near the Hasanpur bus station, between Satabariya and Arjun Khola, informed Suraj Khadka, Police Inspector at the Ward Police Office in Lamahi.

Khadka informed that the passenger bus (Na 6 Kha 405) en route to Jajarkot from Kathmandu had run over the mammal on the highway early this morning.

The bus and its driver have been taken in police custody.

The dead animal, weighing around 40 kg, has been handed over to the Gadhuwa Sector Forest Office.
