RUPANDEHI: A girl died and her father sustained injuries after the scooter they were riding on collided with a tipper truck in Butwal Sub-metropolis of Rupandehi district today.

The deceased has been identified as Pushpa Bhandari (20) and the injured as her father Ghanashyam Bhandari (47) of Tamnagar, Butwal-12.

Injured Bhoj Prasad is said to be in normal condition.

According to Police Head Constable Bhoj Prasad Pandey at Butwal-based Area Police Office, the accident took place after a tipper truck (Lu 1 Kha 6233) heading in a westward direction from Butwal collided with the scooter (Lu 45 Pa 7234) at Pakhapani.

Meanwhile, police have impounded the vehicle and detained its driver for further investigation into the fatal road accident.
