BHOJPUR: As many as eight VDCs have been recommended for upgradation into two more municipalities in Bhojpur district.

Sources at the District Development Committee said four VDCs from the southern part of the district and four others from the eastern part of the district were recommended for upgradation into two additional municipalities in the district.

Local Development Officer Bhanubhakta Neupane of Bhojpur said one municipality could be formed by including Ranibas, Homtang, Khairan and Sindrang VDCs and another municipality could be formed including Pyauli, Yangpang, Champe and Charambi VDCs from the eastern part of the district.

The district currently has two municipalities.
