DAMAULI: Tanahun District Development Committee has been operating without Local Development Officer for the past 19 days.

The absence of LDO has adversely affected financial transactions and various other planning works at the DDC. After LDO Uday Bahadur Rana was transferred to the Ministry of General Administration following his promotion as joint secretary, the DDC has been running without LDO.

Though Narayan Prasad Baral, Chief Engineer at District Technician’s Office, has been assigned the responsibility of Acting LDO, he does not possess the right to approve any kind of financial transaction.

The DDC said absence of LDO had mostly affected document verification and amendment of plans and policies.
