Deals on only 30 of 1,000 development projects inked in Kavre
Kavre, November 26
Although around 1,000 projects and development programmes were allocated for Kavre for the current fiscal, agreements on only thirty projects have been reached so far.
The District Development Committee, Kavre had set a deadline of November 15 to form consumers’ committees and sign agreements on the various projects. However, only 30 projects have signed agreements.
Administrative Officer at the DDC Dholakraj Dhakal said this may be because details of the agreements were yet to arrive at the DDC.
In a public hearing programme organised by the DDC a week ago, political party leaders demanded that the deadline be extended by two months. Dhakal, however, said no discussion was held on extending the deadline.
Of the 30 projects on which agreements have been reached, 28 projects cost less than Rs 3 lakhs. Budgets have been allocated for 986 projects, including programmes of the Tourism Ministry, the Department of Archaeology, the Gumba Development Committee, Kavre DDC, and the Road Department this fiscal.
